• Costa rica Textile exports trade data in value by countryCosta Rica's textile sector is considered as efficient and productive. The Costa Rica textile business sector, on the other hand, is at a disadvantage due to China's low labour costs and Mexico's preferential status under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Costa Rica's textile industry exports have decreased as a result of these competitive advantages present with other countries. Costa Rica's textile sector employment has more than halved between 1990 and 2004. Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI) colonists started to take advantage of the Caribbean Basin Trade Promotion Act's textile-related provisions in 2001. (CBTPA).
Although exports and employment are still dropping, the textile industry in Costa Rica has remained viable in recent years by focusing on specialty items, utilizing the abilities of its efficient labour, and capitalising on its proximity to the US market. The overall number of individuals directly working in the textile sector, according to GOCR and other reliable industry sources, is between 11,000 and 15,000 people. This industry employs roughly 11,000 people, according to the GOCR Social Security Agency. Meanwhile, industry experts estimate that the textile business supports at least 15,000 direct jobs and another 5,000 indirect jobs. There are roughly 67 firms in the textile market of Costa Rica. Four significant enterprises employ nearly two-thirds of the estimated 15,000 people. At Textile Infomedia you can get full information of Textile industry in Costa Rica.
Prices in the Costa Rica textile industry are falling not only as a result of increased competition, but also as a result of more efficient and modern textile production techniques and lower raw material prices, particularly for fabric. apparel and garments companies in Costa Rica are receiving the same number of orders as they did last year. However, because of these factors. the cost of textile products is decreasing. Costa Rica textile industries have thrived by developing niche products, focusing on efficiency, and hiring highly skilled workers. As a result, neither labour standards nor wages have fallen. Workers are quite well compensated, and their level of living is good not only in comparison to their Central American neighbours, but also in comparison to other countries throughout the world. Since the majority of exports go to the United States, labour standards have risen as a result of complying with labour certification requirements imposed by key U.S. clients.
